What a crazy, busy, oh-my-god time it has been for me since the first of the year.
- Decided after an extended southwest adventure that, Yep—that’s where I was meant to be
- Since then I’ve D-R-I-V-E-N back and forth across the country…TWICE. Do the math!
- Stopped off in Florida for Wicked Book Weekend and got a first-hand taste of what an Author Signing Event is really like
- Closed out a decades long residence in the great northeast during a miserable winter (what was I thinking?)
- Sold a house
- Took a monumental leap of faith and…
- Moved, lock, stock, and barrel to a little patch of desert in Nevada where this happens most nights…
Oh, and while all that was happening? I was writing. I’m always writing ::chortlesnort:: It’s what I do. Play with words. Live inside a character’s life and create amazing stories. {sigh}
When Cameron’s story, BROKEN JUSTICE was released….I just hoped to get all three of the original Justice Brothers stories in print, but didn’t focus too much on anything after that. It was enough to simply fulfill a dream by seeing the process through from start to finish. See if I could do it, you know? Not just tell a story but put it in writing. Let an editor see it (yikes). Give it to a formatter. Work with a cover designer. Birth a book.
In my mind, if fifty people read those stories I was going to be ecstatic.
I had no idea where my Justice adventure would lead or how much Cameron, Draegyn and Alex were going to change my life.
After three serious Alpha heroes though, there needed some balance so cue the Baron-Wilde sisters. Their stories have been knocking about in my brain even longer than Justice has.
And then readers asked—begged—demanded MORE…so Family Justice was born. Characters came and went from the Justice compound in Arizona and the saga continued. The clamor for Brody’s tale and Alex and Meghan’s wedding was heard. So too, the third Wilde Sisters book and the promised cross-over that will bring these two unusual groupings of people into each other’s lives.
And to think, when all this began, my goal was simple. The Justice Brothers. Tell the stories. See it through. Smile.
With each successive book in both series, the stories become more and more dense as characters were added and the bigger picture revealed. That kind of story-telling takes time. And focus. Oh, and a never-ending supply of Hershey’s Kisses, Starbucks Chai Tea Latte and the Spa channel on Sirius XM.
The next Family Justice Novel…Brody’s part of the story – SANCTUARY, will close out 2015.
Which is what brings us to THE GIDEON AFFAIR. This new story is a simple, happy ever after. Oh sure, there’s conflict and problems but I needed to write something that didn’t have high drama, stalkers, vampires, handcuffs (Wait—that’s not entirely true!), terror plots, secret affairs, tragedy, etc. The characters are real, funny and memorable. He’s an Alpha of course ::eye-rolling:: and she’s a modern woman. No psychosis, or hidden agendas. And he’s not a dick. That was important. Sometimes that “next door, All American” quality is about the guy and in Edward’s case, he loves his parents, is motivated by home and family and has a real heart of gold. He finds a match in his quirky assistant who is more BFF than employee. Her name is Paige. Paige Turner… and, yes, the pun was intended!
So get ready to one-click when THE GIDEON AFFAIR releases on October 6th. Find out how these two friends make the jump to lovers and go along with them on their jourmey from the sometimes yucky underbelly of the celebrity culture at it’s worse to a family get-together that’s all about heart. And love.
Sometimes, it’s just a simple (and very sexy) happy ever after.
I love your books. Your writing is awesome, I’ve read the justice series and family justice several times. You describe each character to a T. Will there be more family justice, if so, when.
Keep up the awesome work
Pam
